MUNA is a Los Angeles-based indie pop trio who met at USC's Thornton School of Music in 2013 and have since grown into one of indie pop's most vital and electrifying acts. A touchstone for LGBTQ+ audiences, they build hook-driven, emotionally candid worlds that drench electronics, post-punk, synth-pop, and new wave in metallic sheen while carrying a brooding melancholy that undercuts the hedonistic highs. Their 2022 self-titled album earned them Band of the Year from Consequence of Sound, year-end list placement from Billboard, Rolling Stone, and TIME, and slots opening for both Harry Styles and Taylor Swift on their respective tours. Now, with their forthcoming album Dancing On The Wall, MUNA channel the raw, anxious energy of political tension, millennial precarity, and personal heartache into a fast-paced, hard-edged dance pop record that is intimate, spectacular, socially conscious, and joyful all at once.
